(A) You should immediately print the receipt and store it in a safe place. You may need to refer to this document at a later time to obtain your delete code.

(Q)  How can I delete my ad? 
(A) You can delete your ad by submitting the following information 
AGENCY CODE and INVENTORY TAG and DELETE CODE
You can find this information on your  ad submission receipt. Have this information ready and click here. If you do not have your receipt we can lookup your last ad submission by clicking here.
If you are unable to delete your Surplus Ad call 000-000-0000

(Q) I have a photo. How do I make it appear with my Surplus Ad
(A)

 

First you must upload the photo to a file server on the web in gif or jpg format. If you do not have a file server account you can obtain one at http://my.yahoo.com/ 

Submit your  Surplus ad using the online form 
In the field IMAGE URL type the full path that is pointing to your picture

Alternatively you can e-mail us the photo at surplusphoto@dgs.state.va.us be sure to include the following information:

AGENCY CODE
and INVENTORY TAG in your e-mail.
Note: Skip the 
IMAGE URL field.
Leave the default. http://virginiasurplus.dgs.state.va.us/images/nophoto2.gif

Alternatively you can use the US post office an mail your actual photo to us at 
0000 Dabney Road • Richmond, Virginia 00000
Be sure to include the following information:

AGENCY CODE
and INVENTORY TAG in your e-mail.

(A) If you answer YES the system will place beside your ad indicating a photo is available to view.
If you answer NO the system will place nothing beside the ad.

(Q) What is the advantage of using the  build your own web page field.
(A) With this field experienced users can create a webpage for their surplus ad. You can use html in this field.
TIP:
Use a html editor like FrontPage and copy the html code from FrontPage to the build your own web page field.

(Q) What are cookies and how are they used here?
(A) A cookie is a small file placed on your computer from our web server.
The cookies are only used to assist you in the following ways:

1. When you fill out the surplus ad submission form we store that information on your pc  
     for later use.
     This will prevent you from having to re-enter you agency information every time you 
 
     place an ad.
2. We store the information necessary to delete your last submitted ad if you make a 
    mistake or simply want to delete it.  I want to delete my last surplus ad. 

NOTE: This feature will not work if you have cookies turned off. See your IT professional for further assistance on the subject.
